Why We Started

In 2020, I emptied my 401k to start Daniel's Doors. Not because I suddenly wanted to change careers—I had 19 years in construction and a stable corporate job—but because I needed the flexibility to travel back to San Francisco to see my son. I could have stayed put and accepted that distance. Instead, I bet on myself.

Those early days were about proving something simple: that a locally owned shop in Granite Falls could deliver the care most people only talk about. I worked both jobs for a while. My wife came in, our kids got involved, my father-in-law joined us. We weren't trying to scale fast. We were trying to build something that would last and let me be present for my family.

My background taught me what precision looks like. In the Navy, I worked on helicopters—the kind of work where a small mistake costs lives. That mindset doesn't turn off when you install a garage door. It shouldn't.

What We've Learned

Being locally owned means we see the same people at the grocery store. It means we have something to prove every single day, not just on the first call. We don't have corporate overhead to hide behind. When we say we'll show up, we do. When we say we'll fix it right, we do.

Our family is part of this. Six kids, my father-in-law, my wife—she brings perspectives and rigor I wouldn't have alone. That diversity of thought makes us better. When your family's name is on the truck, standards aren't optional.

Giving back matters to us because Granite Falls gave us the chance to build this. We're not just service people passing through—we're neighbors who stay. The community supports us, so we support it in return. That's not marketing. That's how we live.
